Research Technician Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Abstract health information from paper or electronic medical records and enter data into standard collection tools
• Complete required diagnostic and procedure coding for abstracted data
• Coordinate with hospital staff to retrieve medical records according to study protocols
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Conduct baseline and 3-month outcome interviews with identified patients
• Organize and maintain collected participant research data and study materials
• Schedule participant appointments and perform appointment reminder calls
• Participate in weekly research meetings and communicate status updates regarding abstraction and interviews

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
• 1-2 years of research experience
• Experience with data abstraction and patient interviewing

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English to serve the local population
• Minimum of 2 years of college education
• Medical degree or LVN certification
