Research Teaching Specialist V

Responsibilities

• Contribute to investigations regarding the role of neural activity in guiding and initiating motor actions
• Handle, breed, genotype, and train rodents for experimental purposes
• Perform standard laboratory experiments including rodent behavioral training, microscopy, multiphoton imaging, and PCR
• Maintain the mouse colony and manage databases for lab equipment, reagents, and animals
• Manage lab supplies, including ordering reagents and monitoring resource usage
• Assist the Principal Investigator with the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications by creating figures and text
• Participate in regular lab meetings and evaluate existing procedures to improve methodology

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Experience in rodent models
• Proficiency in neuroscience techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a relevant science
• One (1) year of related research experience
• Prior experience with mouse work
