About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to investigations regarding the role of neural activity in guiding and initiating motor actions
- Handle, breed, genotype, and train rodents for experimental purposes
- Perform standard laboratory experiments including rodent behavioral training, microscopy, multiphoton imaging, and PCR
- Maintain the mouse colony and manage databases for lab equipment, reagents, and animals
- Manage lab supplies, including ordering reagents and monitoring resource usage
- Assist the Principal Investigator with the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications by creating figures and text
- Participate in regular lab meetings and evaluate existing procedures to improve methodology
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience in rodent models
- Proficiency in neuroscience techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a relevant science
- One (1) year of related research experience
- Prior experience with mouse work
