Research Staff Assistant

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a Postdoctoral Fellow to design and refine experiments investigating the body-brain axis
• Perform complex biological procedures including stereotaxic manipulations and mouse survival surgeries
• Utilize viral systems for chemogenetics and optogenetics
• Lead neuroanatomical mapping and histology tasks, including tissue harvesting, precision slicing, and high-level immunostaining (IHC/IF)
• Analyze and interpret experimental data and present findings during lab meetings
• Manage lab support tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining chemical and reagent inventories

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a research environment
• Proficiency in immunostaining and knowledge of viral systems
• Experience with mouse survival surgeries and stereotaxic manipulations
• A science-first mindset with a deep passion for biological discovery
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn new technologies rapidly
