About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support behavioral experiments and patch-clamp electrophysiology studies using Drosophila models
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational methods
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance laboratory technical infrastructure, including data-tracking systems and experimental rigs
  • Train and mentor laboratory personnel on experimental procedures and equipment operation
  • Manage Drosophila stocks and establish genetic crosses to support ongoing research
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and communicate findings to the Principal Investigator
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of laboratory protocols and methodologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific or engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of related experience in a research environment
  • Experience working with sensory or motor systems
  • Hands-on experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology or electrophysiology in insects
  • Proficiency in Drosophila genetics and quantitative behavior
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, or prototyping experimental apparatus
  • Computer programming skills, specifically in Matlab or Python
