About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for multiple sponsored research projects involving advanced cementitious materials.
  • Coordinate resources and manage both laboratory and fieldwork effectively to ensure project success.
  • Supervise research personnel to maintain high quality, compliance, and timely delivery of experimental outcomes.
  • Synthesize research results and translate findings into practical testing and analysis procedures.
  • Oversee laboratory operations and ensure adherence to safety and research protocols.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering or a related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of field and research engineering experience.
  • Proven experience overseeing laboratory operations and coordinating complex research projects.
  • Experience guiding and supervising research staff.
  • Ability to manage physical demands associated with concrete and field-related research work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 years of related field and research experience, including 2+ years specifically as a research engineer.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with ASTM and AASHTO laboratory testing and Structural Health Monitoring management.
