About the role

Responsibilities

  • Promote research initiatives to increase program visibility and reputation
  • Edit grant applications and coordinate funding applications
  • Liaise with agencies, collaborators, industry sponsors, faculty, and other stakeholders regarding funding
  • Serve as a resource for general grant funding inquiries and stay informed on application policies and deadlines
  • Verify that research accounts are processed according to sponsor and granting agency guidelines
  • Process invoices and reimbursements related to Principal Investigators' grant accounts
  • Monitor, record, reconcile, and report on funding accounts for grants and contracts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology or an accepted combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in research support, research budgeting, and grant applications
  • Experience working with University’s Financial Information System (FIS) and Research Information System (RIS) or similar programs
  • Demonstrated experience with editing, writing, reviewing, and submitting grant proposals
  • Knowledge of SSHRC or similar research granting councils and funding agencies
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing, and reconciling research accounts and processing related invoices
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing abilities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
