Research Scientist/Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental research on brain-like world models using deep learning, causality, and probabilistic models
• Design experiments to test hypotheses regarding high-level cognition, causal representations, and active inference
• Collaborate with neuroscientists and software engineers to translate mathematical frameworks into scalable systems
• Contribute to open science through new publication models and open source code releases

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, Physics, or a related quantitative field
• Strong foundations in deep learning, graphical models, and information theory
• Expert-level coding proficiency in PyTorch or JAX
• Demonstrated interest in AGI, robustness, and common-sense reasoning
• Passion for exploring the computational principles of the mammalian brain
