Research Scientist - Texture & Screening

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize assays for high-throughput screening of microbial strains.
• Advance screening platforms and predictive assays, specifically focusing on texture descriptors.
• Support new product development from early ideation through to late-stage delivery, primarily within the dairy sector.
• Collaborate across functions to build partnerships and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Provide scientific insight and practical experimentation to identify and isolate promising microbial lead candidates for food applications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in developing and optimizing assays for high-throughput screening.
• Strong scientific understanding combined with a passion for innovative technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of cheese and yogurt fermentation processes.
• Expertise in texture measurements.
• Experience working with lactic acid bacteria.
• Background in food, fermentation, or biosolutions-related innovation environments.
