Research Scientist - Reinforcement Learning, Self-Driving

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research on reinforcement learning (RL) topics, including large-scale self-play RL and VLA post-training
• Explore fundamental RL topics such as reward learning and imitative behavior learning incorporation
• Collaborate with Research Engineers to test and deploy algorithms into autonomy and robotics products
• Work closely with other Research Scientists and interns to produce publications for top-tier conferences

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in machine learning, computer vision, or a closely related field with autonomy/robotics applications
• Strong research record in RL and VLA post-training for autonomous systems
• Proven publication record in top-tier conferences or journals (e.g., CVPR, ICRA)
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
• Technical experience with robotics systems and distributed machine learning model training

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with self-play RL and imitation learning
• Experience with VLA post-training for autonomy or robotics
• Experience with large-scale closed-loop RL in driving simulation
• Familiarity with large-scale RL training infrastructure, such as Ray
