Research Scientist - Physical AI & Robot Foundation Models

About the Company

The Physical Intelligence Lab researches and develops innovative Robot Foundation Models (RFM) to create world-class Physical AI technology. We aim to build next-generation robot intelligence models that can understand visual information, interpret language instructions, and perform appropriate actions in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop new RFM model architectures and training methodologies
• Improve RFM pre-training and post-training (SFT, RL) performance
• Research robot learning data collection (Real/Sim/Web) and data mixing strategies to enhance generalization
• Analyze latest research trends in VLA and World Models to integrate and improve internal RFM
• Apply research and development achievements to products and services

Requirements

• Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or a PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related fields
• Research or development experience in RFM (VLA, World Model, etc.) or robot learning (Imitation Learning, Reinforcement Learning, etc.)
• Proficiency in model implementation and training using deep learning frameworks like PyTorch

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale dataset construction and data strategy establishment
• Experience using simulation environments (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, etc.) or real robot platforms
• Experience in multimodal foundation model pre-training/post-training
• Publication record in top-tier conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CoRL, RSS, etc.)
• Experience utilizing large-scale distributed training infrastructure
