Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative machine learning techniques to advance the research agenda
• Discover simple, generalizable ideas that work effectively at large scale
• Own and pursue a research agenda, including selecting impactful problems
• Autonomously carry out long-running research projects
• Collaborate with peers across the organization to unify research visions

Requirements

• Proven track record in machine learning
• Demonstrated accomplishments such as first author publications or significant projects
• Ability to work with high levels of autonomy on long-term research goals
• Strong alignment with OpenAI’s approach to research

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in and thoughtfulness regarding the societal impacts of AI technology
• Experience creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms
