About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct software R&D activities, including development, implementation, prototype modeling, and simulation.
- Perform testing and validation of software systems and software for prototype deployment.
- Provide software development subject matter expertise across diverse application areas.
- Contribute to technical proposals, publications, and whitepapers.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to create solutions for autonomous systems, robotics, and decision support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, or applied R&D.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern ML/AI development workflows.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree with a focus on ML/AI, data-intensive systems, or optimization.
- Experience contributing to government, defense, or security-related R&D programs.
- Familiarity with simulation-based models (physics-based, agent-based, or stochastic).
- Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or LLM-enabled systems.
- Experience with C++, Java, or cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud).
