Research Scientist II/Senior, Discovery Machine Learning

Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models to optimize performance in drug-discovery settings
• Partner with computational chemists, medicinal chemists, and biologists to leverage ML insights for decision-making
• Generate value from machine learning models for internal teams and external partners
• Communicate results with internal drug discovery teams and machine learning scientists
• Support the evolution of machine learning models by gathering analytical feedback and providing domain-driven guidance

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent degree in chemistry or another physical science
• 3+ years of experience or commensurate degree and job experience
• Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques for evaluating and troubleshooting models
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Python programming, statistics, and drug discovery

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in computational chemistry or machine learning in chemistry
• 3+ years of experience working in a drug discovery project
