Research Scientist I - Seed Conditioning

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate seed conditioning equipment, facilities, and processes to support teaching, research, and service activities.
• Conduct applied research focused on seed conditioning, seed quality improvement, and post-harvest seed management.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate research findings through publications and technical resources.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, quality assurance practices, and safety protocols for facility operations.
• Train and mentor staff and industry participants in seed conditioning principles and practices.
• Support the planning and delivery of educational programs, workshops, and professional training courses.
• Maintain laboratory and storage facilities, including equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and inventory management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Seed Science, Plant Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with the operation and maintenance of seed conditioning, processing, enhancement, or post-harvest handling systems.
• Experience supporting agricultural or seed-related research projects.
• Knowledge of seed quality principles, quality assurance programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including industry, academic, and international partners.
