About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead epidemiologist for COVID-19-related research and co-investigator for cross-bureau special projects
- Propose scientific studies regarding long-term mental and physical health effects of multiple disaster exposure
- Lead manuscript development and mentor junior scientists
- Oversee administrative tasks including budgeting, vendor contracts, and IRB processes
- Manage external research partnerships and collaborations
- Conduct independent analyses of WTCHR data using longitudinal and hierarchical methods
- Supervise research staff and interns
Requirements
- Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, or a related biological/environmental science
- Doctorate degree with one year of supervisory or research experience, or Master's degree with three years of research experience
- Proficiency in statistics and programming languages such as SAS, STATA, or R
- Experience in longitudinal study design and analysis
- Ability to apply mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) to disaster studies
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in COVID-19 and/or disaster health
- Proven history of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience mentoring less experienced analysts and scientists
