About the role
Responsibilities
- Advance NGS-based diagnostic assay products from proof-of-concept through development and production transfer
- Conduct bench-level experiments, including nucleic acid extraction optimization and NGS assay design
- Plan, execute, and analyze complex experiments while providing technical leadership for moderate to complex projects
- Analyze and interpret complex NGS data and present findings at departmental and project meetings
- Prepare detailed technical procedures, protocols, and regulatory documentation
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks in compliance with ISO and Quality Systems requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support laboratory automation and precision medicine initiatives
Requirements
- PhD in life sciences, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (Master's with 4 years of experience or Bachelor's with 6 years of experience also considered)
- 1+ years of industry experience in biotech, life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology and/or biochemical techniques
- Strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and Quality Systems
- Knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and genomics
- Proficiency in statistical and mathematical methods, including experience with software such as JMP
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of industry experience
- Hands-on experience with DNA extraction, quantification, and library construction
- Experience with NGS-based diagnostic assay development and target enrichment
- Familiarity with cfDNA-based assays and automation platforms
- Proficiency in R, Python, or other advanced data analysis tools
- Knowledge of cancer biology, genetics, or epigenetics
