Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Advance NGS-based diagnostic assay products from proof-of-concept through development and production transfer
• Conduct bench-level experiments, including nucleic acid extraction optimization and NGS assay design
• Plan, execute, and analyze complex experiments while providing technical leadership for moderate to complex projects
• Analyze and interpret complex NGS data and present findings at departmental and project meetings
• Prepare detailed technical procedures, protocols, and regulatory documentation
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks in compliance with ISO and Quality Systems requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support laboratory automation and precision medicine initiatives

Requirements

• PhD in life sciences, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (Master's with 4 years of experience or Bachelor's with 6 years of experience also considered)
• 1+ years of industry experience in biotech, life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors
• Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology and/or biochemical techniques
• Strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and Quality Systems
• Knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and genomics
• Proficiency in statistical and mathematical methods, including experience with software such as JMP

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience
• Hands-on experience with DNA extraction, quantification, and library construction
• Experience with NGS-based diagnostic assay development and target enrichment
• Familiarity with cfDNA-based assays and automation platforms
• Proficiency in R, Python, or other advanced data analysis tools
• Knowledge of cancer biology, genetics, or epigenetics
