About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments to validate novel therapeutic targets in the cardiometabolic space
- Perform laboratory rodent procedures including multi-route dosing, sample collection, and necropsy
- Conduct in vitro assays to dissect the mechanism of action in various cell types, including cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells
- Collaborate with cross-functional drug development teams to generate robust preclinical data
- Troubleshoot and optimize assays, perform biostatistical analysis, and present findings
Requirements
- Doctorate degree OR Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in the molecular mechanisms of cardiac, cardiovascular, or renal disease biology
- Hands-on experience with in vivo rodent procedures and dosing (IP, PO, SC, IV)
- Proficiency in in vitro cell culture and assay development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cell line engineering technologies such as CRISPR, lentivirus, or retrovirus
- Experience with 3D engineered cardiac tissue or cardiac/renal organoid models
- Expertise in diverse blood collection methods, perfusion techniques, or IVIS imaging
