Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret experiments to validate novel therapeutic targets in the cardiometabolic space
• Perform laboratory rodent procedures including multi-route dosing, sample collection, and necropsy
• Conduct in vitro assays to dissect the mechanism of action in various cell types, including cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells
• Collaborate with cross-functional drug development teams to generate robust preclinical data
• Troubleshoot and optimize assays, perform biostatistical analysis, and present findings

Requirements

• Doctorate degree OR Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience
• Expertise in the molecular mechanisms of cardiac, cardiovascular, or renal disease biology
• Hands-on experience with in vivo rodent procedures and dosing (IP, PO, SC, IV)
• Proficiency in in vitro cell culture and assay development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cell line engineering technologies such as CRISPR, lentivirus, or retrovirus
• Experience with 3D engineered cardiac tissue or cardiac/renal organoid models
• Expertise in diverse blood collection methods, perfusion techniques, or IVIS imaging
