About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day research activities for NIH-funded multisite studies.
  • Coordinate research activities at Columbia and partner institutions.
  • Lead participant recruitment efforts both in-person and online throughout New York City.
  • Schedule study visits and conduct qualitative and quantitative interviews.
  • Facilitate the collection of saliva samples and perform qualitative analysis of interview transcripts.
  • Prepare IRB materials and assist with protocol and instrument development.
  • Hire, train, and supervise research assistants.
  • Monitor data collection and assist in the triangulation of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts for scientific dissemination.
  • Organize and participate in meetings with the Principal Investigator and community advisory boards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of relevant research experience.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative interview skills.
  • Experience with IRB material preparation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social sciences, public health, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working with sexual and racial/ethnic minority communities.
  • Two years of experience or training in a medical or social science research environment.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
