About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead independent and dynamic research programs in metabolic diseases, obesity, or biological sciences
  • Secure external research funding from national or international sources
  • Publish high-impact research articles as a Principal Investigator in Q1/Q2 journals
  • Serve as an advisor for graduate programs within the Institute
  • Dedicate approximately 25% of time to teaching undergraduate and graduate students
  • Participate in national and international research networks and academic events

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant field of biological sciences or bioengineering
  • Substantial publication record in high-impact (Q1/Q2) journals over the last five years
  • Advanced English proficiency (CEFR C1 or TOEFL 600 points)
  • Proven experience in research funding acquisition
  • Membership in the National System of CONAHCyT Researchers in Mexico or equivalent credentials
  • Strong leadership, communication, and networking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in applied, translational, or clinical research
  • Expertise in Bioengineering, Nanomedicine, Advanced healthcare materials, or Medical devices
  • Ability to foster collaborations with university hospitals and multidisciplinary researchers
  • Potential for technology-based entrepreneurship and scientific impact
