About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead independent and dynamic research programs in metabolic diseases, obesity, or biological sciences
- Secure external research funding from national or international sources
- Publish high-impact research articles as a Principal Investigator in Q1/Q2 journals
- Serve as an advisor for graduate programs within the Institute
- Dedicate approximately 25% of time to teaching undergraduate and graduate students
- Participate in national and international research networks and academic events
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in a relevant field of biological sciences or bioengineering
- Substantial publication record in high-impact (Q1/Q2) journals over the last five years
- Advanced English proficiency (CEFR C1 or TOEFL 600 points)
- Proven experience in research funding acquisition
- Membership in the National System of CONAHCyT Researchers in Mexico or equivalent credentials
- Strong leadership, communication, and networking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in applied, translational, or clinical research
- Expertise in Bioengineering, Nanomedicine, Advanced healthcare materials, or Medical devices
- Ability to foster collaborations with university hospitals and multidisciplinary researchers
- Potential for technology-based entrepreneurship and scientific impact
