Research Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatment programs, including planning, coordination, and evaluation for the research study
• Conduct data acquisition, biomechanical data reduction, and analysis
• Provide clinical support for subjects during testing on perturbation protocols in virtual reality environments and treadmills
• Evaluate patients to determine the type and frequency of treatment necessary for rehabilitation
• Record all pertinent data in medical records and maintain the security and confidentiality of research records
• Prepare and submit progress reports, data deliverables, and publishable documents
• Maintain and update regulatory documentation for IRB compliance
• Oversee subject recruitment, enrollment, and research subject visits

Requirements

• Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Current Physical Therapist license
• US citizenship and ability to pass a government background investigation
• Familiarity with instrument motion analysis
• Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) practice and human subject regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Knowledge of clinical or general research techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in physical therapy, specifically in orthopedics
• 3-5 years of experience in non-profit, research, or healthcare settings
• Experience with amputee care
• Knowledge of basic statistics
• Proficiency with Matlab, Cortex, Nexus, or Visual 3D
