About the role
Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy treatment programs, including planning, coordination, and evaluation for the research study
- Conduct data acquisition, biomechanical data reduction, and analysis
- Provide clinical support for subjects during testing on perturbation protocols in virtual reality environments and treadmills
- Evaluate patients to determine the type and frequency of treatment necessary for rehabilitation
- Record all pertinent data in medical records and maintain the security and confidentiality of research records
- Prepare and submit progress reports, data deliverables, and publishable documents
- Maintain and update regulatory documentation for IRB compliance
- Oversee subject recruitment, enrollment, and research subject visits
Requirements
- Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Physical Therapist license
- US citizenship and ability to pass a government background investigation
- Familiarity with instrument motion analysis
- Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) practice and human subject regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Knowledge of clinical or general research techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in physical therapy, specifically in orthopedics
- 3-5 years of experience in non-profit, research, or healthcare settings
- Experience with amputee care
- Knowledge of basic statistics
- Proficiency with Matlab, Cortex, Nexus, or Visual 3D
