About the role

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy treatment programs, including planning, coordination, and evaluation for research study subjects.
  • Conduct data acquisition, biomechanical data reduction, and analysis to support study objectives.
  • Provide clinical support for subjects during testing on perturbation protocols in virtual reality environments and active-step treadmills.
  • Record all pertinent data in medical records and maintain the security and confidentiality of research files.
  • Develop and implement teaching programs and research activities related to physical therapy.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, data deliverables, and co-author publishable documents.
  • Oversee subject recruitment, enrollment, and research subject visits as directed.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation for IRB/IACUC and ensure compliance with research study protocols.

Requirements

  • Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Physical Therapist license.
  • Familiarity with instrument motion analysis.
  • Knowledge of clinical or general research techniques.
  • US citizenship and ability to pass a government background investigation.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in physical therapy, specifically in orthopedics.
  • 3-5 years of experience in non-profit, research, or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) practices and human subject regulations.
  • Experience with amputee care.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics.
  • Proficiency with Matlab, Cortex, Nexus, or Visual 3D.
