Research Nurse Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute clinical research protocols and trials for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
• Work with a diverse clinical research team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and data managers.
• Manage the research participant experience throughout the entire study life cycle.
• Educate and counsel patients participating in research studies and conduct long-term follow-ups.
• Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into ongoing research studies.
• Support compliance with protocol regulatory requirements and manage clinical research data quality assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
• At least 4 years of nursing experience.
• Active, current license as a Registered Nurse in the United States, Puerto Rico, or a US territory.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a research setting, including clinical research coordination.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical Research certification.
• Nursing experience in cardiology, pulmonary, hematology-oncology, vascular medicine, and/or sickle cell disease.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity research environments.
