Research Nurse

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver outpatient clinical trial activities to ensure protocol compliance and participant safety.
• Administer investigational medications and injectable study products according to study protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor participant adherence to study drug protocols through direct observation, interviews, and data review.
• Provide individualized education and counseling to research participants regarding study procedures, treatments, and potential side effects.
• Oversee regulatory and compliance activities, including the preparation of IRB applications and essential regulatory documents.
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical research documentation to ensure data integrity and readiness for audits.
• Collaborate with investigators, pharmacy, and laboratory departments to facilitate successful study implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Louisiana.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong clinical assessment skills to recognize and respond to adverse events.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3) years of nursing experience in clinical research, oncology, infusion services, or ambulatory care.
• Experience coordinating clinical trials, research protocols, or investigational drug studies.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IRB processes, and FDA regulations.
