About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful, patient-oriented, and safe conduct of clinical trials at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
  • Assist investigators with the preparation and implementation of new clinical trial protocols.
  • Screen and enroll study participants by reviewing medical histories and confirming protocol eligibility.
  • Provide protocol-related clinical management and serve as a primary link between patients and the research team.
  • Collaborate with the Protocol Activation office to initiate new trials using the OnCore® system.
  • Accurately grade adverse events using NCI common toxicity criteria or protocol-specific scales.
  • Act as a resource for faculty and staff regarding FDA, IRB, and GCP regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Active nursing license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of oncology experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Three to five years of oncology research experience.
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification (OCN or AOCN).
  • Clinical Research Professional certification (CCRP or CRA).
  • Experience with OnCore™ software.
