About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multi-site research projects from conception to completion, including the development of protocols, work plans, and timelines.
  • Lead the operationalization of the MOSAIC Study, managing participant recruitment, retention, and multi-site study setup.
  • Identify new research opportunities and lead the preparation and submission of grant applications.
  • Manage research ethics applications, amendments, and ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements and board certifications.
  • Oversee data management processes, including the design and maintenance of research databases using tools like REDCap or EDC.
  • Coordinate the collection, storage, and shipment of biological specimens across multiple health authority sites.
  • Manage project finances, including budget development, forecasting, and expenditure oversight.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between clinical teams, universities, provincial health systems, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related research management or project coordination experience.
  • Proven experience with grant applications and scientific writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with REDCap, EDC, or similar database management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading national or multi-site research projects.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous-specific anti-racism and cultural safety.
  • Experience managing Research Ethics Board (REB) applications and renewals.
  • Experience supervising staff, students, or volunteers.
  • Familiarity with clinical specimen collection, handling, and storage procedures.
