About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the research vision and roadmap for multimodal sensor foundation models and generative AI for temporal and spatial signals.
- Lead an R&D portfolio involving machine learning on heterogeneous sensors, including radar, audio, RF, IMU, and vision.
- Manage a team of PhD-level researchers and senior engineers, providing technical and career mentorship.
- Foster a culture of scientific excellence through high-impact IP generation and publications in top AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR).
- Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research into production-ready artifacts and deploy AI at scale.
- Manage budgets, resources, and recruitment to meet team competency demands.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field specializing in Machine Learning or Signal Processing.
- 5+ years of experience in AI research and development, including demonstrated commercialization or product deployment of ML systems.
- 3+ years of experience in team leadership or management within a corporate research environment.
- Deep expertise in multimodal learning, sensor fusion, and high-frequency signal modeling.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier ML or signal processing venues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across research, engineering, and business units.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building foundation models or large-scale representation learning systems for sensor data in automotive or industrial settings.
- Exposure to sensing AI applications in robotics, manufacturing, or consumer technology.
- Experience with real-time, embedded, or edge AI systems.
- Track record of patents or successful technology transfer in an industrial setting.
- Experience managing cross-site or cross-disciplinary teams.
