About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret basic molecular biology experiments
  • Assist senior laboratory members with various experiments and workflows
  • Coordinate and communicate with team members on multi-participant longitudinal experiments
  • Identify and communicate experimental design flaws
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of protocols
  • Prepare and organize data for presentations and publication
  • Present data at group meetings
  • Train new lab members in equipment operation and standard techniques
  • Contribute creatively to research aims in the lab

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience (can include classroom experience)
  • Critical thinking skills, including realistic self-evaluation
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Reliable schedule and ability to commit to the position for at least one year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cell-based work and in vitro biochemistry assays
  • Experience with small molecule work
  • Experience with mouse handling
  • Previous experience with in vitro small molecule testing
