About the role
Responsibilities
- Support experiments focused on the molecular and cellular basis of inner ear development, function, and disease
- Perform cochlear microdissections, immunostaining, and tissue processing
- Utilize microscopy and imaging techniques for data collection and documentation
- Contribute to the management of the mouse colony, including breeding records and genotyping coordination
- Assist with general laboratory maintenance, including inventory, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep
Requirements
- BA/BS/BSc in biology, neuroscience, molecular/cellular biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience
- Experience in inner ear research and cochlear microdissections
- Experience with immunostaining (e.g., immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence) and tissue processing/sectioning
- Experience with microscopy and imaging (e.g., fluorescence/confocal) and basic image analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mouse handling and colony management
- 2+ years of experience with behavioral testing assessments of rodents
- 2+ years of experience with confocal microscopy imaging
- 2+ years of experience with tissue culture
- 2+ years of experience with cryosectioning and data analysis
