About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support experiments focused on the molecular and cellular basis of inner ear development, function, and disease
  • Perform cochlear microdissections, immunostaining, and tissue processing
  • Utilize microscopy and imaging techniques for data collection and documentation
  • Contribute to the management of the mouse colony, including breeding records and genotyping coordination
  • Assist with general laboratory maintenance, including inventory, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep

Requirements

  • BA/BS/BSc in biology, neuroscience, molecular/cellular biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience
  • Experience in inner ear research and cochlear microdissections
  • Experience with immunostaining (e.g., immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence) and tissue processing/sectioning
  • Experience with microscopy and imaging (e.g., fluorescence/confocal) and basic image analysis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mouse handling and colony management
  • 2+ years of experience with behavioral testing assessments of rodents
  • 2+ years of experience with confocal microscopy imaging
  • 2+ years of experience with tissue culture
  • 2+ years of experience with cryosectioning and data analysis
