Research Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory activities, ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with institutional standards
• Manage, train, and mentor laboratory research assistants and technicians, including performance management and scheduling
• Maintain regulatory compliance by managing laboratory safety plans, animal and biosafety protocols, and training documentation
• Drive research progress by designing, troubleshooting, and executing experiments and analyzing data
• Coordinate research initiatives, including mouse colony needs and experimental timelines
• Contribute to scholarly output by assisting in the preparation of grant applications, manuscripts, and technical reports
• Interface with internal teams and external collaborators to ensure project alignment and progress

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in a research laboratory environment
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong background in mouse genetics, molecular biology, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to independently design and evaluate experiments
• Proven experience mentoring and developing research staff
• Strong data analysis, organization, and scientific writing skills
• Experience supporting grant writing and peer-reviewed publications
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities
