Research Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct molecular genetics research including cell culture (microbial and mammalian)
• Perform fluorescence microscopy and protein extractions
• Execute western blot analysis, subcloning, and genotyping
• Perform statistical analysis of research data
• Maintain and organize lab databases
• Assist with lab ordering and supplies management
• Direct undergraduate students and assist in training new lab members

Requirements

• HS Diploma or Associate Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
• 0-1 years of experience for Associate level or 1-3 years for Intermediate level
• Experience with cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, western blot, subcloning, genotyping, or statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or professional experience with sterile technique
• Background in cell biology or related scientific coursework
• Demonstrated experience in molecular genetics
