Research Lab Specialist Senior

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent experiments in cardiovascular, immune, and thrombosis biology, including accurate record-keeping and data analysis
• Train individuals at various levels, from premedical students to postdoctoral trainees, in specialized laboratory techniques
• Assist with the preparation of manuscripts for publication and grant applications for peer review
• Manage laboratory equipment and supply needs, including the breeding, maintenance, and genotyping of mouse colonies
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, IACUC, EHS, and DEA protocols
• Monitor and manage laboratory expenses related to specific research work
• Design, troubleshoot, and implement experimental protocols

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or a directly related field
• 5 to 6 years of related research experience
• Proven supervisory experience
• Experience in financial management

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree with 5 to 6 years of related experience
• Significant experience in teaching or mentoring within a laboratory environment
• Extensive experience handling experimental animals, including microsurgery
• Deep knowledge of the laboratory regulatory environment (IACUC, EHS, DEA)
• Expertise in neuro-immunology or vascular biology
• Strong writing skills with experience in grant writing
• Ability to synthesize complex data and conduct thorough literature reviews
