Research Lab Specialist Associate

Responsibilities

• Manage a large and complex colony of experimental mice, including health assessments and routine procedures.
• Design and maintain computer databases for experimental data, including genotyping, weight, and survival rates.
• Maintain the laboratory's standard procedure manual for institutional review.
• Supervise and train new employees, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty on animal procedures.
• Coordinate the shipment of mice and biological samples with external faculty and institutions.
• Perform data analysis and present periodic reports on various experimental protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or a directly related field.
• 1 to 3 years of full-time animal care experience.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with veterinary technicians, residents, and faculty.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant scientific field.
