Research Lab Specialist Assoc

Responsibilities

• Maintain transgenic and mutant mouse colonies, including breeding, genotyping, and anesthesia/euthanasia.
• Perform animal tissue dissections, fixation, sectioning, and immunohistochemical/immunofluorescent staining.
• Conduct digital fluorescence microscopy and image analysis using software such as ImageJ.
• Assist with or perform animal surgeries, including EEG implantation, stereotactic surgery, and in utero electroporation.
• Execute molecular biology techniques including RNA/Protein isolation, transcriptomics, qRT-PCR, Western blot, and gel electrophoresis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2 years of animal and laboratory research experience.
• Experience with animal colony management.
• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a focus in biomedical sciences.
• Prior laboratory experience at a research university.
• Experience with multi-omics, drug screening, or fluorescence-based tissue staining.
• Experience with EEG implantation and stereotactic surgery.
