About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain transgenic and mutant mouse colonies, including breeding, genotyping, and anesthesia/euthanasia.
- Perform animal tissue dissections, fixation, sectioning, and immunohistochemical/immunofluorescent staining.
- Conduct digital fluorescence microscopy and image analysis using software such as ImageJ.
- Assist with or perform animal surgeries, including EEG implantation, stereotactic surgery, and in utero electroporation.
- Execute molecular biology techniques including RNA/Protein isolation, transcriptomics, qRT-PCR, Western blot, and gel electrophoresis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years of animal and laboratory research experience.
- Experience with animal colony management.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in biomedical sciences.
- Prior laboratory experience at a research university.
- Experience with multi-omics, drug screening, or fluorescence-based tissue staining.
- Experience with EEG implantation and stereotactic surgery.
