About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support high-impact research through reproducible data analysis, pipeline development, and data/code organization
  • Assist with the analysis of sequencing and multi-omics datasets
  • Maintain secure and well-documented research data systems
  • Support manuscript and grant-related outputs
  • Mentor and onboard new lab members in computational workflows and best practices
  • Communicate computational methods, results, and limitations to both computational and non-computational collaborators

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, microbiology, biology, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing biological or biomedical datasets using R, Python, or command-line tools
  • Proficiency working in Linux/Unix environments and managing files/scripts on shared computing or HPC resources
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Ability to maintain clear documentation of code, workflows, and project decisions to support reproducible research
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant computational or biological field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bioinformatics or genomics research
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS), microbiome/metagenomic analysis, or multi-omics integration
  • Experience developing reproducible workflows using workflow managers, containers, or cloud/HPC environments
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub or other version-control systems
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, or data visualization
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, figures, or text for manuscripts and grants
