About the role
Responsibilities
- Undertake research on biogeochemical processes, soil health, and environmental biodiversity to develop sustainable management practices.
- Develop and apply mathematical models and spectra-based technology to predict key soil biogeochemical properties.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to successful grant applications.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Supervise and mentor research students and assistants while contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate training.
- Collaborate across disciplines and engage with external stakeholders to strengthen the School’s research profile.
Requirements
- PhD in Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, Soil Science, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in research regarding soil biological functionality, biodiversity, and biogeochemical processes.
- Proficiency in molecular microbiology technologies, bioinformatics, and DNA sequence data analysis.
- A strong track record of publishing in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
