About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct internationally competitive nano-optics research focusing on optical nanotweezers and metasurfaces for structured light generation
- Design and characterise advanced optical nanotweezers and metasurfaces
- Prepare and publish high-impact scholarly outputs in peer-reviewed journals
- Present research findings at international seminars and conferences
- Contribute to competitive research funding proposals
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate research students and support junior research staff
- Engage with TMOS nodes, School committees, and community outreach activities
Requirements
- PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or a related nano-optics field
- Hands-on experience with optical nanotweezers and/or metasurfaces
- Proven research publication track record in meta-optics or related fields
- Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse international and domestic research teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in theoretical modelling or nanofabrication
- Experience in writing successful grant applications
- Experience in the supervision of research students
