Research Fellow

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced analyses using integrated police datasets to generate insights aimed at reducing serious violent and sexual harm
• Develop risk assessments to identify individuals who commit serious violent and sexual offenses
• Drive the production of high-quality publications, research reports, and competitive grant proposals
• Mentor emerging researchers and supervise project staff
• Uphold rigorous ethical and professional standards across all research activities and data governance

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of serious offending, ideally supported by practical experience working with offenders or victims
• Proven ability to analyze large datasets using statistical methods, with proficiency in R highly desirable
• Demonstrated track record in producing peer-reviewed publications or evidence-based research reports
• Experience mentoring students or supervising research assistants within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong understanding of research ethics and the safe handling of sensitive criminal justice datasets
