Research Fellow

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced analyses using integrated police datasets to generate insights that reduce serious violent and sexual harm
• Develop risk assessments to identify individuals who commit serious violent and sexual harm
• Drive publications, reports, and grant proposals to translate complex findings into actionable strategies for justice and public safety partners
• Mentor emerging researchers, supervise project staff, and uphold rigorous ethical and professional standards

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of serious offending, ideally supported by practical experience working with offenders or victims
• Proven ability to analyse large datasets using statistical methods, with proficiency in R highly desirable
• Demonstrated track record in producing peer-reviewed publications, research reports, or evidence-based insights
• Experience mentoring students or supervising research assistants
• Strong understanding of research ethics, data governance, and the safe handling of sensitive or criminal justice datasets
