Research Farm Supervisor II

Responsibilities

• Manage and care for agricultural animals on the Cook Campus farm, including cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry, and horse herds
• Coordinate animal needs for research, teaching, and outreach programs involving University faculty and undergraduate courses
• Perform daily animal care record keeping and reporting in compliance with University Animal Care & Use Committee policies
• Supervise full-time employees within the Animal Care Program
• Coordinate equipment needs with peer Research Farm Supervisors

Requirements

• B.S. degree plus 2 years of experience working with agricultural animals (or an equivalent combination of experience and related college-level coursework)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
• Experience operating agricultural equipment such as tractors, manure spreaders, mowers, and skid steer loaders
