About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of real robot stations, including build-up, calibration, validation, maintenance, and teardown
- Architect next-generation robotic stations by evaluating new robotic arms and hands
- Operate and support teleoperation data collection campaigns and maintain pipelines for data ingestion and validation
- Deploy trained control policies on physical hardware, run evaluations, and benchmark sim-to-real gaps
- Develop and maintain infrastructure tools, including Docker environments, deployment automation, and monitoring systems
- Integrate new hardware components such as sensors, cameras, and hands into existing robot stations
- Define and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks to increase station uptime
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research scientists, policy engineers, and embodiment teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of industry experience in robotics software engineering, systems integration, or robotics operations
- Proficiency in Python and experience with Linux systems administration
- Hands-on experience building, debugging, and maintaining physical robot systems (manipulators, sensor suites, etc.)
- Experience with ROS or ROS 2 in real-world robotic environments
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and deployment automation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dexterous manipulation systems, multi-fingered hands, or humanoid robots
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with real-time control systems (RTOS)
- Experience scaling robot operations across multiple sites or reducing operational toil in research settings
- Experience with ML training pipelines or MLOps workflows (e.g., PyTorch)
- Experience with motion capture systems, force/torque sensors, or tactile sensing hardware
- Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
