About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and run hands-on experiments focused on advancing manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Develop experimental workflows connecting design, simulation, fabrication, sensing, and robotics
  • Apply AI-assisted and agentic workflows to manufacturing contexts such as process planning and anomaly detection
  • Build integrated software and hardware pipelines for physical prototyping, including additive manufacturing and robotic systems
  • Evaluate emerging technologies like digital twins, machine perception, and industrial automation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams and industry partners to translate insights into scalable technologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, Robotics, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing systems, robotics, automation, or physical prototyping
  • Experience applying AI, data-driven methods, or automation tools to physical or engineering systems
  • Familiarity with simulation, digital twin, or model-based engineering workflows
  • Ability to build and test integrated systems combining software, hardware, and sensor data
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of hands-on experimentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with physics-informed AI or machine learning applied to process optimization
  • Familiarity with industrial data protocols such as MQTT, MTConnect, or OPC UA
  • Experience with CNC, additive manufacturing, or smart factory systems
  • Experience developing intellectual property or prototypes that transition from research to commercial use
