Research & Development Ink Chemist

Responsibilities

• Develop new inkjet ink formulations using empirical design and modeling methods
• Design and formulate inks to enhance optical density, durability, and drop formation
• Characterize print attributes and system robustness
• Collaborate with printer component designers to balance system-level tradeoffs
• Participate in cross-functional, global teams and external supplier co-development
• Manage formulation design including performance, manufacturing, and chemical regulatory guidelines

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Deep understanding of fundamental chemical mechanisms
• Expertise in pigment and dye chemistry, polymers in solution, and nanoparticle suspensions
• Strong knowledge of interfacial and surface chemistry
• Proficiency with analytical instruments and data interpretation
• Experience in wet chemistry or ink formulation
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to solve problems creatively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming skills
• Familiarity with printing technology and color science
• Prior professional formulation experience
