About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage research studies and projects at the Thrive Lab, overseeing all phases from planning and execution to evaluation and reporting
  • Prepare, submit, and update ethics applications and ensure adherence to research protocols and ethical guidelines
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpret findings
  • Produce manuscripts, reports, presentations, and plain-language summaries for public materials
  • Manage project finances, including budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop research proposals, work plans, timelines, and grant applications
  • Supervise students, research assistants, and volunteers, providing leadership in systematic and scoping reviews
  • Facilitate communication with project partners, knowledge users, and Patient Partners
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of lab websites

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of related research experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with NVivo and research ethics submission processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree in health or social sciences
  • Experience with reference management software and database management
  • Strong skills in summarizing, synthesizing, and presenting research results
  • Experience conducting systematic reviews and online literature searches
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including Indigenous elders and marginalized communities
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
