About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate clinical research initiatives focused on cardiopulmonary disease and cancer
- Manage the full range of study conduct, including protocol development, ethics submissions, and study maintenance
- Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, randomization, and informed consent processes
- Ensure strict compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and manage patient follow-up assessments
- Design and manage data collection methodologies, databases, and specimen transfers
- Supervise clinical exercise research and collaborate with allied health professionals and exercise physiologists
- Provide training and leadership to undergraduate and graduate students and research staff
- Prepare data analysis findings, contribute to manuscript preparation, and present research results
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of two years of related research experience
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Experience in clinical exercise physiology
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CSEP or ACSM CEP (certified exercise physiologist) certification or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently and manage projects within defined budgets and timelines
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to document complex research processes
