About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee patient recruitment, screening, and study visits while ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and protocols.
- Manage regulatory approvals, including Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, amendments, and annual renewals.
- Maintain day-to-day research activities, including database management, procuring equipment, and tracking study progress.
- Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOP), and Health Canada regulatory requirements.
- Collect, record, and analyze research data and assist in preparing reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Supervise, schedule, and train research assistants, students, and other trainees.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant discipline or completion of a relevant technical program.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a research setting.
- Proven experience with clinical research and the informed consent process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong knowledge of GCP and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline with 2 years of recent clinical research experience.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain high accuracy, attention to detail, and strict confidentiality.
