About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute research activities for the Aging, Mobility, and Cognition (AMC) Lab, ensuring project milestones and timelines are met.
  • Coordinate randomized controlled trials and cohort studies, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage confidential research data using REDCap, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and proper archiving.
  • Recruit eligible older adults with diverse chronic conditions through community engagement and information sessions.
  • Prepare data for statistical analysis and assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
  • Lead ethics applications and management, ensuring adherence to all research protocols and safety standards.
  • Supervise and train research assistants, volunteers, and project teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day budget use, invoice payments, and pcard reconciliations.
  • Perform literature searches and synthesis on specific research topics.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a clinical research laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in REDCap and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of statistics and literature synthesis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with older adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in neuropsychological testing, neuroimaging, mobility, or exercise prescription.
  • Experience with randomized controlled trials and databasing.
  • Knowledge of age-related changes in physical and cognitive abilities, including dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
  • Proficiency in R or basic coding skills.
  • Strong understanding of physiological and cognitive responses to exercise in older adults.
