About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute research activities for the Aging, Mobility, and Cognition (AMC) Lab, ensuring project milestones and timelines are met.
- Coordinate randomized controlled trials and cohort studies, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage confidential research data using REDCap, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and proper archiving.
- Recruit eligible older adults with diverse chronic conditions through community engagement and information sessions.
- Prepare data for statistical analysis and assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
- Lead ethics applications and management, ensuring adherence to all research protocols and safety standards.
- Supervise and train research assistants, volunteers, and project teams.
- Oversee day-to-day budget use, invoice payments, and pcard reconciliations.
- Perform literature searches and synthesis on specific research topics.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in a clinical research laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in REDCap and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of statistics and literature synthesis.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with older adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in neuropsychological testing, neuroimaging, mobility, or exercise prescription.
- Experience with randomized controlled trials and databasing.
- Knowledge of age-related changes in physical and cognitive abilities, including dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
- Proficiency in R or basic coding skills.
- Strong understanding of physiological and cognitive responses to exercise in older adults.
