About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan complex IT projects, including developing schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Provide research computing support, system administration, and network administration for the Aspuru-Guzik research group
  • Develop, modify, and correct scripts and software, with a heavy focus on Python
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and test highly complex systems and internal network solutions
  • Plan and implement new IT systems based on business and operational requirements
  • Serve as a technical leader and resource for other specialists and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of recent UNIX/Linux system administration experience in a complex IT environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Python programming and script development
  • Experience with GPU deployment and AI workloads (including LLMs and computational clusters)
  • Experience with application containers, virtualization, and network troubleshooting
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters
  • Experience working with private and/or public cloud environments
