About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead RNA biology research projects focused on cell RNA-protein interactions and small molecule drug discovery
- Design advanced methodologies, perform experiments, and provide detailed interpretations and conclusions
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, data, and records
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students on independent research projects
- Train lab members in rigorous and safe biological techniques according to lab protocols
- Assist in the coordination and writing of scientific protocols, manuscripts, and grant applications
- Supervise laboratory ordering and inventory management
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
- At least two years of independent research experience in RNA molecular and cell biology
- Proven experience characterizing in-cell RNA:protein interactions and related mechanisms
- Proficiency in bioinformatics data analysis
- Experience in scientific writing, specifically for manuscripts and grants
- Demonstrated experience mentoring student researchers
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership and ability to coordinate research teams
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary group environment
