About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead RNA biology research projects focused on cell RNA-protein interactions and small molecule drug discovery
  • Design advanced methodologies, perform experiments, and provide detailed interpretations and conclusions
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, data, and records
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students on independent research projects
  • Train lab members in rigorous and safe biological techniques according to lab protocols
  • Assist in the coordination and writing of scientific protocols, manuscripts, and grant applications
  • Supervise laboratory ordering and inventory management

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • At least two years of independent research experience in RNA molecular and cell biology
  • Proven experience characterizing in-cell RNA:protein interactions and related mechanisms
  • Proficiency in bioinformatics data analysis
  • Experience in scientific writing, specifically for manuscripts and grants
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring student researchers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and ability to coordinate research teams
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary group environment
