About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in Indigenous peoples’ law or Canadian state law relating to Indigenous peoples
- Author one work of original scholarship intended for publication in a peer-reviewed journal
- Participate in the intellectual life of the law school, including faculty workshops, seminar series, and conferences
- Support the teaching of an Indigenous Law course
Requirements
- LL.B. or J.D. degree
- Proven research experience, preferably regarding Indigenous issues in Canada
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong interest in pursuing an academic career in law
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- LLM degree
- Demonstrated interest in Indigenous issues, culture, and language
- Experience or background with Indigenous community work, including "learning on the land"
