About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in Indigenous peoples’ law or Canadian state law relating to Indigenous peoples
  • Author one work of original scholarship intended for publication in a peer-reviewed journal
  • Participate in the intellectual life of the law school, including faculty workshops, seminar series, and conferences
  • Support the teaching of an Indigenous Law course

Requirements

  • LL.B. or J.D. degree
  • Proven research experience, preferably regarding Indigenous issues in Canada
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong interest in pursuing an academic career in law
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • LLM degree
  • Demonstrated interest in Indigenous issues, culture, and language
  • Experience or background with Indigenous community work, including "learning on the land"
