About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of methods for federated statistical analysis of electronic health record (EHR) data
- Provide tailored analytical tools for users within the VITAL federated data network
- Collaborate with researchers on various biomedical applications using the federated data network
- Develop analytic plans, conduct analyses, and report results within a federated environment
- Facilitate effective research collaborations and ensure timely delivery of professional research outputs
Requirements
- PhD in statistical sciences, computer sciences, applied mathematics, data sciences, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, or a related specialty
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the analysis of structured and unstructured EHR data
- Demonstrated expertise in federated statistical inference methods, ideally in the context of EHR
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R
- Knowledge of EHR data curation and standardization, including UMLS or OMOP common data models
- Strong publication record in methodological and applied statistics
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain statistical analyses to clinical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP)
- Experience with medical image analysis
- Experience working with big data and building data/analytical pipelines
